Mike Hamlin brings 15 years of personal training experience to every client at EverFlex Fitness. As an NSCA-certified personal trainer in Calgary, Mike and his team have helped hundreds of clients lose weight, build muscle, recover from injuries, and improve athletic performance.
We train clients at gym locations across Calgary, so you can choose what’s most convenient. Between sessions, you have access to your program and can reach your trainer with questions anytime.
Most gym trainers follow template programs and rotate between different clients each session. At EverFlex Fitness, you get a dedicated trainer who knows your goals, tracks your progress, and adjusts your program as you improve.
The EverFlex personal training team holds NSCA Personal Training and Nutrition Coach certifications, and we have registered dietitians on staff for evidence-based nutrition guidance.
We’ve helped over 100 Calgary clients achieve real results by combining expert coaching, custom programming, and ongoing accountability. You’re not just getting workouts; you’re getting a complete system designed to help you succeed.
Every client receives a comprehensive fitness assessment to establish your starting point and set clear goals. Your trainer designs a custom workout program specific to your body and objectives, then coaches you through 60-minute one-on-one training sessions. You’ll get progressive program adjustments based on your progress, nutrition guidance from our registered dietitian, and regular accountability check-ins.
Reach out to book a consultation where we discuss your fitness goals, health history, past training experience, and current routine. We’ll do a basic movement assessment to identify any limitations or imbalances, then explain how our training process works and answer your questions.
Your trainer builds a program designed for your specific goals. Weight loss clients get metabolic conditioning and strength training with nutrition support. Muscle building programs focus on progressive overload with proper volume. Injury recovery includes corrective exercises and mobility work. We coordinate your training schedule based on your availability and recommended frequency.
Your first session focuses on teaching proper form and explaining your program. We start at an appropriate intensity for your fitness level. Your trainer walks you through each exercise, demonstrates proper technique, and explains why you’re doing what you’re doing. The more you understand about training, the better your results will be.
As you progress, workouts get more challenging with increased weight, reps, or complexity. Your body adapts quickly, so we constantly challenge it with progressive overload. Your trainer tracks your performance every session in detail. If you benched 135 pounds for 8 reps last week, we’re aiming for 135 for 9 reps or 140 for 8 reps this week. That consistent progression is what drives results.
Every three to four weeks, we do a comprehensive progress check. For weight loss clients, we look at body composition changes and measurements, not just scale weight. For strength clients, we test major lifts to see how much you’ve improved. These checkpoints keep you motivated and help us identify if we need to adjust your nutrition, training frequency, or program structure. Between sessions, you can text your trainer with questions about your workouts, nutrition, or recovery. We want you supported throughout your entire fitness journey, not just during your scheduled hour.
Our weight loss approach combines strength training to preserve muscle with metabolic conditioning to burn fat. Our registered dietitian creates a nutrition plan that puts you in a sustainable calorie deficit without leaving you hungry or depleted. The goal is helping you lose weight and keep it off by building lasting habits. We’ve worked with clients who’ve lost 20, 30, even 50+ pounds by following their program consistently.
“Mike helped me understand the workouts and stretches but also a smarter and healthier way of eating that fits my needs and day to day life…”
Building muscle requires progressive overload, adequate volume, proper nutrition, and recovery time. Your trainer designs a periodized program that cycles through hypertrophy and strength phases while our dietitian helps you dial in your protein intake and calories for growth. We track your lifts every session to ensure you’re adding weight or reps consistently. Many clients come to us after months of training on their own without seeing muscle growth. The problem is usually programming, not effort.

We work around your injuries with exercises that support recovery without aggravating the problem. This includes strengthening weak areas, improving mobility, and retraining movement patterns. Many clients originally came to us for injury recovery and stayed because of the results they achieved. We’ve helped clients recover from rotator cuff issues, knee problems, lower back pain, and sports injuries.
Training for a specific sport requires programming that matches those demands. We design programs with plyometrics for power, unilateral exercises for balance, and sport-specific movements to improve your performance and reduce injury risk. We’ve trained recreational hockey players who needed more explosive speed, marathon runners who wanted to build strength without adding bulk, and weekend warriors who wanted to stay competitive in their sport.

“Since training with Mike at EverFlex for the past couple of years, my overall strength and fitness has improved dramatically. I am now able to perform exercises I would never have attempted on my own and continue to see both physical and mental gains at the gym.
Mike is always willing to share his expert knowledge and answer any questions I come up with. His knowledge on nutrition is admirable and his dedication to helping people is commendable. Mike’s sessions are always fun, and he continues to mix up every training session, so it never gets boring.”
